LVMH’s Métiers d’Excellence Tour Expands to Lyon and Florence

LVMH’s Métiers d’Excellence tour is back and this time it is expanding its reach to Lyon and Florence for the first time. The annual event, known as the ‘You & ME’ tour, aims to educate and inspire students and individuals seeking a career change about the luxury group’s skilled professions in design, craftsmanship, and customer experience.

This year’s tour is putting a spotlight on an impressive 280 professions and LVMH is on the lookout for candidates to fill a staggering 3,500 positions across various labels within the group in France. This number is three times higher than the previous edition of the tour.

The tour kickstarted on February 15 at Palais Brongniart in Paris and has already been a tremendous success. Alexandre Boquel, the head of LVMH’s Métiers d’Excellence, expressed his surprise at the outcome of this edition, with 2,100 people attending the event in Paris, twice as many as last year. Many visitors came well-prepared, bringing their CVs along with them.

One exciting addition to this year’s tour is a job dating space, where candidates can swiftly search for job opportunities within the group that align with their professional goals. They can apply directly on-site or via the ‘You & ME la prépa’ online platform.

The professions showcased in the Métiers d’Excellence tour belong to the fields of design, craftsmanship, and customer experience. These sectors have faced immense challenges, especially due to the impact of the Covid pandemic. Currently, there are 2,700 vacancies within these areas.

After visiting Paris and Reims, the tour made a special stop in Clichy-sous-Bois. However, the event planned for March 7 in Orléans had to be canceled due to a general strike in the country.

The next destination for the You & ME tour is Lyon on March 29. Lyon is being visited for the first time, coinciding with the announcement of a new training course in partnership with the Haute Ecole de Joaillerie, a fine jewelry school. The course, starting in the next academic year, will offer a qualification in fine and costume jewelry and allow students to train as jewelers, gem-setters, and polishers. The program will be conducted at Oteline and FG Manufacture, two fine jewelry workshops acquired by Christian Dior in the Lyon region.

“The creation of this training course is notably going hand in hand with the spectacular growth of our jewelry houses, like Christian Dior. [Lyon] is also the city where Tony Parker, sponsor of the LVMH Métiers d’Excellence, has established the Tony Parker Adequat Academy, an institute with which we have other connections,” explained Boquel.

For the first time ever, the You & ME tour is expanding beyond France and heading to Florence, Italy on April 14-15. This stop will specifically focus on leather goods craftsmanship, highlighting the rich heritage and expertise of Italian artisans.

The LVMH Métiers d’Excellence tour presents an incredible opportunity for students and individuals interested in the luxury industry to learn more about the various professions and career paths available within the group. With its expansion into Lyon and Florence, the tour is reaching an even wider audience and showcasing the exceptional talents and skills that define LVMH’s prestigious brands.
