LVMH Holds LIFE 360 Summit Act II: A Forum Committed to Sustainable Luxury

The world’s leading luxury company, LVMH, recently held its LIFE 360 Summit Act II event at UNESCO. The event brought together approximately 500 employees and partners to assess the company’s sustainable objectives and present its outlook for 2026 and 2030.

Prominent figures from the fashion and beauty industry attended the event, including Kim Jones for Fendi and Dior Homme, Guillaume Henry for Patou, and Francis Kurkdjian for Christian Dior Parfums. Stella McCartney, founder of her eponymous brand and a vocal advocate for sustainability, emphasized the importance of creativity in addressing environmental challenges.

LVMH has recognized the urgency of taking action and showcased its commitment to sustainability during the event. Directors from various brands within the LVMH group, such as Loro Piana, Moët Hennessy, Sephora, Celine, and Guerlain, shared their progress on sustainability initiatives. The collaborative nature of the event was evident through conferences, workshops, and exhibitions that highlighted the collective efforts of the luxury industry.

LVMH also took the opportunity to present its achievements by 2023 in key areas of focus. Through its LIFE 360 program, the company has made significant progress in biodiversity preservation and restoration, leveraging regenerative agriculture principles. It has also made strides in promoting creative circularity, including the launch of the Nona Source platform and the introduction of repair and lifetime warranty services in several brands. The company’s only setback is the elimination of virgin fossil-based plastics by 2026, but it has adjusted its action plan to meet this goal by 2030.

Acknowledging the challenge of addressing indirect emissions, which account for over 90% of its overall environmental footprint, LVMH unveiled the LIFE 360 Business Partners program. This initiative aims to support suppliers in their ecological transition through action plans, forums, training platforms, and the sharing of best practices. Hélène Valade, LVMH’s Director of Environmental Development, emphasized the importance of supplier mobilization in achieving the company’s ambitious scope 3 objectives for carbon emissions, water, and biodiversity impact.

The event also highlighted the industry-wide collaboration in the luxury sector. LVMH surprised attendees by inviting leaders from Chanel, Pernod Ricard, and Martell Mumm on stage to announce joint initiatives. This shift from competition to alliance reflects the understanding that sustainability is a shared responsibility and a source of economic power.
