LVMH Highlights Skilled Professions in Métiers d’Excellence Tour

LVMH, the well-known luxury goods conglomerate, is embarking on its third Métiers d’Excellence tour in France and Italy. The purpose of this tour is to highlight the skilled professions that are vital to the group’s operations, such as manufacturing, artisanal skills, and sales. After a successful event in Paris on January 31, the tour, named ‘You & ME’, will continue to other cities in both countries. This annual initiative aims to inspire students in secondary schools, universities, and vocational training, as well as individuals seeking professional retraining, to consider pursuing careers in LVMH’s skilled professions.

The tour serves as a platform to showcase the 280 different professions practiced within the French luxury group. In 2023, the tour attracted a total of 7,000 visitors in France and Italy, resulting in the successful recruitment of over 3,500 positions in various departments, including design, craftsmanship trades, and customer service.

This year, the tour presents 3,500 job opportunities within LVMH’s labels in France. These opportunities include 1,000 positions offering work-study and internship options, as well as 2,500 positions with fixed and indeterminate term contracts. In Italy, LVMH’s skilled trades employ nearly 7,000 people out of their global workforce of 100,000, and the group plans to offer 2,500 jobs by 2025.

The first session of the 2024 tour took place at the Carreau du Temple in Paris, with former NBA star Tony Parker as the ambassador. The event drew an impressive crowd of 3,000 visitors. Other sessions in France are scheduled to take place in Orléans on February 15, Clichy-sous-Bois on February 29, Reims on March 13, and Lyons on March 27. Afterward, the tour will continue to Italy, with sessions planned in Florence on April 5 and 6, Padua on April 24, and a new addition of Naples on May 7, replacing last year’s session in Novara.

Chantal Gaemperle, LVMH’s group executive vice-president for Human Resources and Synergies, emphasized the significance of the Maisons’ involvement in engaging with future talent and guiding them towards fulfilling careers. She highlighted the personalized coaching provided by LVMH’s HR recruiters and the availability of an online platform where individuals can prepare for interviews and apply for the latest job offers across the group’s six business sectors.

LVMH’s third Métiers d’Excellence tour is expected to continue its success in promoting and recruiting individuals for the group’s skilled professions. By providing opportunities for students and professionals to explore and pursue careers in luxury, LVMH remains committed to nurturing talent and ensuring the long-term viability of the industry.
