LVMH Employee Innovation Event DARE in London

LVMH, the renowned luxury group, recently launched its employee innovation event DARE (Disrupt, Act, Risk to be an Entrepreneur) in London, marking a significant milestone for the company. The event, which brought together 70 employees and university students, aimed to foster collaboration and brainstorming on how to “Shape the Customer Experience of Tomorrow”. This London edition follows the success of previous events held in countries like France, Italy, China, and the US.

Initiated in 2017, the DARE programme is a strategic initiative to engage employees across the luxury group in generating innovative ideas. Each edition focuses on different themes, ranging from the future of luxury to sustainability and gender equality.

For the London Edition, a rigorous selection process saw 450 applications from employees within LVMH’s business and fashion brands in the EMEA region, with 60 candidates ultimately participating. In a bid to infuse fresh perspectives, 10 university students from Central Saint Martins and Imperial College London also joined the event. Over three intensive days, from October 1st to 3rd, participants brainstormed and developed their projects at the prestigious LVMH House in London.

A distinguished panel of senior executives, including the CEO of Fendi and the group managing director of LVMH, along with external entrepreneurs, evaluated the projects and selected three winning initiatives. These selected projects will receive unparalleled sponsorship at the highest level within the organization, underscoring LVMH’s commitment to promoting innovation from within.

Chantal Gaemperle, the group executive vice president of HR and synergies at LVMH, underscored the value of DARE in the company’s talent development strategy. Gaemperle highlighted that LVMH’s success is driven by its people, and initiatives like DARE provide a vital platform for global talents to hone their skills, build networks, and exchange ideas. Ultimately, the program cultivates a culture of entrepreneurship, a cornerstone value at LVMH.

The winning projects tackled forward-thinking concepts, including an augmented client service for travelers, revolutionary zero-waste packaging in wines and spirits customer experience, and eco-design for young customer expectations in travel. These innovative ideas showcase the creativity and ingenuity that thrives within the LVMH community.
