LVMH, the luxury fashion conglomerate, has recently made some exciting changes within the Kenzo brand. Sylvain Blanc has been appointed as the new CEO of Kenzo, while Tomoaki ‘Nigo’ Nagao has been named as its artistic director. These appointments bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the brand.
Sidney Toledano, chairman and CEO of the LVMH Fashion Group, expressed his enthusiasm for Blanc’s appointment, highlighting his passion for fashion and extensive retail experience. Toledano believes that Blanc’s entrepreneurial background and ability to revive established brands will open a new chapter in the history of Kenzo.
Blanc will officially begin his role on October 18, after the conclusion of the upcoming Paris Fashion Week. Although Kenzo will not be participating in the event, Blanc’s arrival signifies a significant moment for the brand. He will be taking over from Sylvie Colin, who has decided to pursue a personal project abroad. Toledano acknowledged Colin’s contributions and credited her with strengthening Kenzo’s presence in Asia.
Blanc brings a wealth of experience to his new position. He started his career at the renowned department store, Printemps, before serving as Vice President of Europe, Middle East, and Asia at The Kooples. He is a graduate of the prestigious Ecole Polytechnique and the École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris.
Having served as the CEO of Undiz since 2018, Blanc received warm wishes from LVMH for his new role at Kenzo. With his background and expertise, there is optimism for the continued success and growth of the brand.
Kenzo is well-known for its bold and vibrant aesthetic, and under Blanc’s leadership, it is expected to push the boundaries of fashion even further. With the appointments of Blanc and Nagao, Kenzo is entering a new era, and fashion enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the creative direction the brand will take under their guidance.
