LVMH Appoints Guillaume Motte as Deputy CEO of Fashion Group

LVMH, the renowned French luxury conglomerate, is enhancing its Fashion Group’s leadership by appointing Guillaume Motte as its deputy CEO. The Fashion Group encompasses various prestigious brands under the LVMH umbrella, such as Celine, Givenchy, Loewe, Emilio Pucci, Kenzo, Marc Jacobs, and Patou. Guillaume Motte, currently serving as the president of Europe and the Middle East at Sephora, will assume his new position on May 3. This strategic decision comes at a crucial time for LVMH as it focuses on integrating Tiffany into its impressive portfolio and prepares for the post-pandemic relaunch.

The selection of Guillaume Motte highlights LVMH’s strong commitment to internal talent development and recognition of the expertise and experience of its employees. Motte brings a vast array of accomplishments to his new role, including a background in banking and strategic consulting. His previous positions as the president of Celio and his pivotal role in leading the development of Jennyfer, a prominent womenswear brand, exemplify his exceptional leadership skills and business acumen.

During the early stages of his career, Guillaume Motte held positions at French banking group BNP before transitioning to the renowned management consulting firm McKinsey. However, his passion for the retail industry led him to assume various executive roles, such as CEO of Fnac Eveil & Jeux and head of Fnac Switzerland. Notably, Motte spent four years in Dubai, from 2007 to 2011, overseeing the expansion of Al Tayer Trends, a lifestyle retail company with multiple franchises.

As Guillaume Motte embarks on his new role at LVMH’s Fashion Group, the announcement of his successor at Sephora is eagerly awaited. This recent appointment exemplifies LVMH’s continuous efforts to reinforce its management team and ensure the sustained growth of its luxury fashion brands. By harnessing the talent within its organization, LVMH fosters a culture of internal advancement and expertise that distinguishes it in the fiercely competitive luxury industry.
