LVMH Appoints Gonzague de Pirey as Chief Omnichannel and Data Officer for Sephora

LVMH, the renowned French luxury group, has recently appointed Gonzague de Pirey as the chief omnichannel and data officer for its Sephora brand as part of its ongoing digital transformation efforts. De Pirey, who joined the group last year as the manager of Sephora’s German subsidiary, will now be responsible for overseeing the omnichannel, data, artificial intelligence, and digital customer service expertise centers within the group.

In his new role, De Pirey’s primary objective is to integrate data and artificial intelligence into LVMH’s brands’ value chain. This will involve collaborating with innovative companies and LVMH’s houses to enhance the customer experience across all touchpoints and improve the efficiency of supply chains.

De Pirey will closely work alongside various key figures within the LVMH organization, such as the omnichannel and e-commerce director, the chief data officer, the LVMH client services general manager, and the senior vice president digital, Asia Pacific, among others.

Bringing a diverse range of skills and experiences, de Pirey has held senior positions in different sectors and countries, including Asia, Russia, France, and Brazil. Prior to joining LVMH, he served as a social affairs advisor in the French Prime Minister’s office and held management positions at the Saint Gobain group. In addition, he served as the CEO of the Lapeyre group before joining LVMH.

During his tenure at Sephora, de Pirey has already demonstrated his ability to drive innovative initiatives and engage customers. He successfully launched the Unlimited loyalty program and the new MySephoraStore sales channel, both of which aimed at enhancing the customer experience.

Toni Belloni, LVMH’s deputy CEO, commended de Pirey’s extensive experience and emphasized his strengths in fostering technological advancements and leveraging data to benefit LVMH’s businesses and regions.

By appointing Gonzague de Pirey as chief omnichannel and data officer, LVMH reaffirms its dedication to digital transformation and innovation within the luxury sector. This strategic move positions LVMH to better meet evolving customer expectations and capitalize on the opportunities presented by technology and data.
