LVMH Acquires Officine Universelle Buly 1803

LVMH, the luxury conglomerate headquartered in Paris, has recently completed the acquisition of Officine Universelle Buly 1803, an esteemed French cosmetics brand renowned for its sophisticated and high-end offerings. This move comes as no surprise, as LVMH has been backing Officine Universelle Buly 1803’s growth and development through its investment fund, LVMH Luxury Ventures, for the past few years. The fund aims to invest in emerging brands with strong potential, and it has previously supported notable names like Gabriela Hearst, Hodinkee, and Stadium Goods.

Officine Universelle Buly 1803, founded by Ramdane Touhami and Victoire de Taillac and relaunched in 2014, draws inspiration from the works of 19th-century perfumier Jean-Vincent Bully. The brand offers an extensive array of top-tier products, including fragrances, skincare items, brushes, and ancestral beauty products. With this acquisition, Officine Universelle Buly 1803 becomes the 76th addition to LVMH’s impressive portfolio, joining esteemed brands such as Acqua di Parma and Francis Kurkdjian.

Expressing his excitement about the acquisition, LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault emphasized that Buly perfectly aligns with the principles upheld by the Maisons of the LVMH Group. He praised the brand’s exceptional heritage, craftsmanship, and the unique experience it offers through its boutiques. Arnault further affirmed LVMH’s commitment to ensuring the continued growth and success of Officine Universelle Buly 1803 within the LVMH family. Co-founder Victoire de Taillac shared her optimism about the brand’s future under LVMH, confidently stating that Buly would remain true to its distinct identity within the conglomerate, a birthplace known for its authentic and influential Maisons.

The acquisition of Officine Universelle Buly 1803 enhances LVMH’s presence in the luxury beauty sector, solidifying its dedication to nurturing and empowering emerging brands with immense potential. With its refined products and global acclaim, Officine Universelle Buly 1803 is poised to flourish under the guidance and support of LVMH’s vast network and industry expertise.
