Luxury UK-based retailer END announces new CEO

Luxury UK-based retailer END has announced its new CEO, Parker Gundersen, as the founders step away from direct control of the business. Gundersen brings over 20 years of leadership experience in retail, luxury goods, e-commerce, and strategy consulting to the role. Previously President of Retail Operations at LVMH’s DFS Group and CEO of e-tailer Zalora, Gundersen’s international luxury retail experience and expertise in offline and online channels make him well-suited for the position.

The appointment comes after investment firm Carlyle acquired a majority stake in END last year. Gundersen will join the board immediately and transition into the CEO role later this summer. Christiaan Ashworth and John Parker, the founders of END, will remain in key positions on the board, with Ashworth being nominated as Vice-Chairman. Chairman Patrizio di Marco will work closely with Ashworth and Parker to realize key strategic growth initiatives.

According to Ashworth and Parker, Gundersen’s understanding of the brand’s relationships with partners and the importance of customer service and experience will strengthen customer engagement. They believe his expertise will be instrumental in driving the company forward.

Since the investment by Carlyle, END has been actively pursuing its strategic growth plans. The company has expanded its digital and marketing capabilities, opened a new flagship store in Newcastle, strengthened its senior leadership team, and launched a womenswear platform. With the founders transitioning to the board, they are confident in supporting the next generation of leaders to further develop the END brand and global platform.

The appointment of Parker Gundersen as the new CEO marks a significant milestone for END as it enters the next phase of its evolution. With his extensive experience and the continued support of Ashworth, Parker, and the board, END is well-positioned to continue its growth and success in the luxury, streetwear, and sportswear retail market.
