The luxury industry has partnered with Mojix to utilize its technology and improve global product traceability and authentication. LVMH, the leading luxury conglomerate, along with Prada Group and Cartier, announced the creation of Aura in April 2021. The consortium has since grown by welcoming OTB Group and Mercedes-Benz. The goal of the collaboration is to implement blockchain solutions that address challenges such as digital ownership, responsible sourcing, and product traceability in the luxury sector.
Since its inception, Aura has gained the support of prestigious brands like Miu Miu, Marni, Givenchy, Maison Margiela, and Louis Vuitton, becoming a reference in the premium industry. This project’s digital-focused vision aligns with Mojix’s expertise in intelligence services for products, covering manufacturing, supply chain, and retail. By integrating their systems, Mojix’s cloud-based platform will provide luxury products with “standardized unique identities” through NFC-RFID technology and serialization, ensuring complete traceability and authentication. The Aura Blockchain will secure these unique identities with a unique computer code for each item, benefiting brands in data management, quality control, logistics, and supplier information, while also enhancing the customer experience and trust.
This alliance comes at a time when counterfeiting, responsible consumption, and transparency are under scrutiny, further promoting virtuous and optimized luxury with the help of digital technology.
