Luxury Group Collaborates with Phaidon to Release ‘400 Women Artists’

Luxury Group has recently teamed up with publisher Phaidon to release a stunning illustrated book called “400 Women Artists.” This book focuses on showcasing the creative expressions of women artists and covers five decades of women’s art history. With a comprehensive collection of artwork from 400 artists hailing from 54 different countries, this 464-page publication serves as a powerful testament to the contributions of female artists in the art world.

“400 Women Artists” is a vital part of Women in Motion, a program established by Kering in 2015 to promote and support female profiles in the arts and culture sectors. This initiative was recognized and applauded at the Cannes Film Festival for launching an inspiring series of podcasts dedicated to female directors and actresses. By collaborating with Phaidon on this book, Luxury Group aims to continue championing women’s voices and achievements in the realm of artistic expression.

To coincide with the release of “400 Women Artists,” Phaidon and Artspace, an online art sales website, have curated an exclusive collection of limited-edition creations. These unique artworks, including paintings, illustrations, and photographs, have been crafted by talented artists such as Cecily Brown, Lubaina Himid, Bharti Kher, Catherine Opie, Jenny Saville, and Dana Schutz – all of whom are featured in the book. Presented as a portfolio or available for individual purchase, these limited editions offer art enthusiasts a chance to own a piece of art history while also supporting the cause.

The sales from this collection will be donated to Promundo-US, a non-profit organization focused on gender equality and combating violence against women. Promundo-US is particularly involved in the Boyhood Campaign and Initiative education program, which seeks to address the root causes of violence by working with young boys and men. Initially launched in the United States, this program aims to expand its reach internationally in the future. By contributing to the sales of these exclusive artworks, buyers not only acquire beautiful pieces for their collections but also contribute to a meaningful cause.

With a shared goal of raising nearly one million dollars, Kering, Phaidon, and Artspace are planning to organize various events, including roundtable discussions, to further highlight the work and achievements of artists Maya Lin and Pat Steir. These events will provide a platform to engage with the artists, explore their creative processes, and delve deeper into the themes and inspirations behind their artwork.
