Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton has decided to drop out of the Parisian fashion calendar for the current season. Initially, the brand had planned to present its latest collection on March 9, the final day of Paris Fashion Week. However, the virtual presentation has been postponed by one day, and Louis Vuitton will now unveil its Fall/Winter 2021-22 women’s ready-to-wear collection on March 10 at 2:00 PM.
The news was first reported by Italian fashion daily MF Fashion, and a spokesperson from Louis Vuitton has since confirmed the decision. Unfortunately, no further details have been provided regarding the reasoning behind the change. The current pandemic situation has led to frequent last-minute changes in fashion house schedules as they adapt their communication strategies.
Louis Vuitton is not the only brand to delay its digital presentation until after Paris Fashion Week. Alexandre Mattiussi plans to reveal the new AMI collection on March 11, while Kenzo’s presentation has been moved to March 26. This season’s fashion weeks in February and March have been marked by overlapping presentations between New York, Milan, and Paris. For example, American designer Tom Ford will showcase his collection for the next winter season during Milan Fashion Week on February 26, and Versace will present its collection during Paris’ womenswear week on March 5.
These adjustments to the fashion week schedules demonstrate how the industry is adapting to the ongoing challenges posed by the pandemic. Fashion houses are finding creative ways to present their collections and engage with their audience, whether through virtual shows, digital presentations, or meticulously planned events. As fashion weeks continue to evolve, brands are rethinking the traditional fashion calendar and exploring new approaches to connect with consumers in the digital age.
