Luxury fashion brand Hermès welcomes new members to executive committee

Luxury fashion brand Hermès has recently welcomed two new members to its executive committee. Effective from March 1, Sharon MacBeath, the group’s human resources director, and Agnès de Villers, president and CEO of Hermès Parfum et Beauté, will join the esteemed team.

MacBeath, who joined Hermès in June 2019, brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles in major international companies across various sectors. Her expertise in distribution, services, and industry make her a valuable addition to the executive committee. Additionally, MacBeath has already contributed to the group’s supervisory board and governance committees.

On the other hand, de Villers joined Hermès in 2015 with a focus on strengthening the brand’s presence as a perfume artisan and artist. In March 2020, she played a pivotal role in launching the beauty division, which has since become a substantial driver of growth for the company.

Axel Dumas, the CEO of Hermès and a sixth-generation family member, emphasized the decision to bring new members onto the executive committee as a way to diversify the leadership team’s expertise. Dumas believes that fresh perspectives and skills are crucial for the brand’s continued development.

Hermès has underscored that these appointments signify the brand’s dedication to expanding the range of skills and personalities within the executive committee. MacBeath and de Villers will join the existing nine members, who will continue in their current roles.

The announcement of these new executive committee members follows Hermès’ outstanding financial performance in 2021. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the brand achieved remarkable growth of 41.8 percent, resulting in a revenue of 8.9 billion euros.

The addition of MacBeath and de Villers to the executive committee underscores Hermès’ commitment to nurturing talent and fostering innovation within the organization. With their expertise and contributions, they are expected to play integral roles in driving the brand’s continued success in the luxury market.
