Luxury department store Harvey Nichols appoints new e-commerce director

Luxury department store Harvey Nichols has announced the appointment of Annabel Thorburn as its new e-commerce director. Thorburn, who previously served as senior vice-president of e-commerce at Sweaty Betty, will officially start her role on April 17th. She will be replacing interim e-tail chief Kate Smyth and will report directly to CEO Manju Malhotra.

With her extensive experience in the e-commerce industry, Thorburn is well-equipped to take on this new position. She has been a part of Sweaty Betty since 2018 and has a background in technology and consultancy, having worked for Tesco and Isobar.

Harvey Nichols recognizes the significance of e-commerce and is committed to enhancing its online presence. This includes expanding the range of products and services available digitally. The department store recently introduced a rewards program through its app and is continually adding new brands and products to its selection.

By appointing Thorburn as the e-commerce director, Harvey Nichols acknowledges the increasing importance of e-tail in the luxury retail sector. The brand is dedicated to investing in e-commerce and improving the digital shopping experience to provide more value and convenience to its customers.
