Luxury Conglomerate LVMH Appoints Philippe Farnier as Global Executive Vice-President of Parfums Christian Dior

Luxury conglomerate LVMH has recently undergone significant changes within its beauty division, and it has now announced another important appointment. Philippe Farnier has been named the global executive vice-president of Parfums Christian Dior, one of LVMH’s renowned brands. This announcement follows closely on the heels of Stéphane Rinderknech being appointed as the new head of LVMH’s beauty division.

Farnier is not new to the LVMH group, as he previously held the position of CEO of travel retail within the beauty division. He will continue to serve in this capacity for the time being. In his new role, Farnier will be responsible for overseeing Parfums Christian Dior’s regional markets and the travel retail channel. His direct report will be Véronique Courtois, the CEO of Parfums Christian Dior.

Farnier’s appointment comes after the departure of Bruno Angibeau, the former international director of Parfums Christian Dior. Angibeau’s exit has created an opening for Farnier to step into this new position.

Farnier has an impressive track record in the industry. He began his career at Mondelez International, a major US agri-food company, before moving on to hold positions at Heineken. In 2003, he joined Yves Saint Laurent Beauty as head of sales and eventually became the managing director for France. He joined LVMH in 2008 as the managing director for France of Parfums Christian Dior. Over time, his responsibilities within the company expanded, leading to his promotion as the managing director of travel retail EMEA in 2013. In 2015, he joined Rémy Cointreau, where he assumed various leadership roles, including CEO of the group’s US subsidiary and head of the Rémy Martin cognac brand. He returned to LVMH in April 2022 as the CEO of travel retail for the beauty division.

Given Farnier’s extensive industry experience and his previous success within the LVMH group, he is well-equipped for his new role at Parfums Christian Dior. As global executive vice-president, Farnier will play a vital role in driving the brand’s continued growth and success in the luxury fragrance market. With his leadership, Parfums Christian Dior is poised to thrive and maintain its standing as a leading competitor in the industry.
