LuxImpact Revives French Heritage Jeweler Oscar Massin

LuxImpact, an investment firm based in Paris, is set to revive the renowned French heritage jeweler Oscar Massin. Led by Frédéric de Narp, Sandrine de Laage, and Coralie de Fontenay, LuxImpact aims to relaunch historic French labels with an emphasis on social and sustainable practices. Oscar Massin, under the creative direction of de Laage, will introduce a new progressive model, becoming the first heritage luxury brand in the U.S. to exclusively use grown diamonds.

Inspired by Massin’s iconic designs, such as metal lacework and signature rose-cut diamonds, Oscar Massin will debut several collections of jewels. These collections will be available on the brand’s website starting in mid-February and will exemplify their commitment to ethical and sustainable practices. The jewelry pieces will feature fully traceable, untreated, and climate-neutral Latitude grown diamonds set in 100% recycled gold and platinum. These diamonds meet the highest environmental and ethical responsibility standards set by SCS Global Services.

Apart from using sustainable materials, Oscar Massin’s core collection line prides itself on craftsmanship. The pieces are handcrafted in family-owned ateliers in New York City, while the High Jewelry line is produced in the brand’s Place Vendome atelier. This combination of traditional craftsmanship and sustainable practices sets Oscar Massin apart in the luxury industry.

Established in 1859, Oscar Massin gained recognition for his innovative approach to jewelry-making. He integrated art and science, creating bespoke pieces for royalty around the world. Massin was also known as a teacher, openly sharing his experiments, techniques, and purposeful designs, inspiring a new era of jewelers and artistic expression.

LuxImpact’s acquisition of Oscar Massin follows its successful purchase of Vever, an Art Nouveau pioneer, last year. The investment firm has ambitious plans for the future, aiming to acquire two other brands in the coming year. Through their acquisitions and commitment to social and sustainable practices, LuxImpact aims to revive and reshape the French heritage luxury market.

The relaunch of Oscar Massin under LuxImpact’s guidance signifies a new chapter for the historic jewelry brand. With its focus on ethical and sustainable practices, the brand is poised to make a significant impact in the luxury industry. LuxImpact’s combination of heritage, craftsmanship, and a socially responsible approach aims to revive and redefine the essence of French luxury jewelry.
