Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Sacai: Pushing the Boundaries of Menswear at Paris Men’s Fashion Week

Ludovic de Saint Sernin, a rising star in the fashion industry, created a buzz at Paris Men’s Fashion Week with his provocative and sensual designs. As the newly appointed creative director for Ann Demeulemeester, Saint Sernin took center stage to unveil his latest collection.

Known for his androgynous and sensual aesthetic, Saint Sernin has quickly gained a dedicated following of fans. His show at the multidisciplinary space 3537 rue Francs Bourgeois was highly anticipated, with attendees eager to see his bold and daring style in action.

The show opened with three sleek and elegant black looks, giving a taste of what’s to come under Saint Sernin’s creative direction at Ann Demeulemeester. The collection showcased a diverse range of garments, from sexy corsetry to minimalist taupe knitwear, highlighting the designer’s mature aesthetic and business potential. The brand’s logo, ‘LDSS’, was prominently featured throughout the collection, adding a touch of glamour and branding to the designs.

The runway was set to an electronic song by Offaiah, creating an energetic atmosphere as models confidently strutted down the catwalk. Knotted tops adorned with glamorous boas were paired with low-rise trousers, showcasing the brand’s name on the underwear. The collection also included lightweight, sheer tops and “naked” dresses in pale white, revealing the models’ bodies and intimate lingerie. Shiny skater-cut mini skirts, sophisticated white coats with fur and feather finishes, and oversized textured trousers provided a diverse range of options for the modern fashion-forward individual.

On the same day, Japanese brand Sacai also made a statement with a co-ed fashion show inspired by the film Interstellar. Designer Chitose Abe displayed masterful tailoring skills throughout the collection, featuring functional denim pieces, layered garments, and tweed looks with unexpected twists. Collaborations with Nike, Moncler, and Carhartt WIP added luxurious and streetwear elements to the collection.

Sacai’s collection embraced workwear designed for space, incorporating delicate knitwear and bold prints reminiscent of the Interstellar film. The collaboration with Nike reimagined popular footwear models, while the partnership with Moncler added a touch of luxury. The collaboration with Carhartt WIP showcased high-end workwear pieces such as coats, parkas, and jumpers.

Both Ludovic de Saint Sernin and Sacai left a lasting impression on audiences at Paris Men’s Fashion Week. Their unique and innovative designs pushed the boundaries of traditional menswear, offering a glimpse into the future of fashion. With their bold and daring collections, these designers are elevating workwear and redefining the possibilities of menswear.
