Louis Vuitton Donates $380,000 to UNICEF for Educational Programs in Ghana

Louis Vuitton, one of the most powerful global brands, has announced a generous donation of $380,000 to UNICEF to support educational programs in Ghana. This collaboration between Louis Vuitton and UNICEF aims to expand the Generation Unlimited educational programs, which focus on youth and entrepreneurship in the country. The donation comes as no surprise considering Louis Vuitton’s commitment to philanthropy. In fact, the fashion house previously donated over $14 million to UNICEF through the sale of their collaborative Silver Lockit bracelets.

The decision to dedicate this donation to educational programs in Ghana is particularly significant as it aligns with the personal background of Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director, Virgil Abloh. Abloh’s parents hail from Ghana, making this endeavor even more meaningful to him. To further demonstrate his dedication to education and empowerment, Abloh will be hosting a live conference on entrepreneurship, creativity, and the power of change. The conference will be streamed on Facebook, allowing a wide audience to benefit from Abloh’s insights. Although the date for this event has yet to be announced, it is anticipated that it will be a highly inspiring and informative occasion.

This recent philanthropic action adds to Abloh’s already impressive list of commitments to inclusivity and equal education. Last year, Abloh collaborated with the Fashion Scholarship Fund to improve diversity in fashion schools. Through personal donations from Abloh and his partner brands, one million dollars was raised to establish the Virgil Abloh “Post Modern” Scholarship, benefiting Black students pursuing fashion education. Additionally, Abloh launched Free Game, a mentoring platform open to anyone aspiring to create their own brand.
