Louis Vuitton Crowned Most Powerful French Brand in Brand Finance Ranking

According to the latest Brand Finance ranking, Louis Vuitton has been crowned the most powerful French brand in terms of value, with a valuation of 20.2 billion euros. This impressive achievement is attributed to the luxury brand’s success in online searches in France, the launch of new NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), and increasing sales. With a growth rate of 59.7% and a significant climb of three places from last year’s ranking, Louis Vuitton solidifies its position at the top of the Brand Finance France 150 list, which showcases the most valuable national brands in 2022.

The success of Louis Vuitton can be partially attributed to its parent company LVMH, which provided a strong support system. However, it is important to note that the brand also emerged “strengthened from the pandemic,” according to Bertrand Chovet, CEO of Brand Finance France. Chovet highlighted the brand’s exceptional creativity and execution in all markets as key factors contributing to its triumph. He emphasized the significance of a strong branded asset in today’s uncertain times, as it acts as a powerful competitive factor and limits risks for the business.

Other renowned French luxury brands have also secured prominent positions in the ranking. Chanel holds the fourth spot with a valuation of 13.2 billion euros, closely followed by Hermès in sixth place with a valuation of 11.6 billion euros. The power of the watch and jewelry segment is showcased by Cartier, which stands at the eighth position with a valuation of 10.7 billion euros.

In addition to the valuation rankings, Brand Finance also evaluated the strongest companies of 2022 based on investment, brand image, and financial results. Dior emerged as the leader in this category with a score of 88.4/100, despite being ranked 15th in terms of value. Louis Vuitton closely trailed behind with a score of 87.7/100, while Lancôme and Saint Laurent secured scores of 85.2/100 and 83.9/100, respectively.

Overall, the Brand Finance France 150 ranking highlights a 13% growth across all 150 brands listed. The fashion and luxury apparel industry played a significant role in driving this growth, experiencing an impressive 26% increase.

It is worth noting that this study coincides with Brand Finance’s recent release of rankings for the most valuable cosmetic and fashion brands globally.
