London’s West End Celebrates Year of the Dragon

London’s West End retailers are getting ready to celebrate the Year of the Dragon in a grand style. The Burlington Arcade has already confirmed its participation, and Shaftesbury Capital has stated that around 50 of its retail tenants will also be joining in the festivities. From February 10-24, shoppers can look forward to limited edition Lunar New Year products and experiences.

The highlight of the celebrations will be a lively parade that will wind its way through 12 streets in Chinatown, Covent Garden, Soho, and Carnaby Street. This magnificent parade will feature vibrant lion dancing, captivating live performances, and engaging cultural activities. It presents a fantastic opportunity for both locals and tourists to fully immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Chinese New Year.

Not only are the retailers and brands joining in, but they are also actively participating in the festivities. Annie’s Ibiza will be offering Chinese Dragon silk gauze robes, while Barbour, known for its iconic green waxed jackets, will release a special collection in red. Dr Martens, famous for its unique editions, is launching Year of the Dragon boots, and Ganni will have dragon-inspired T-shirts available.

In the watches and jewellery segment, TAG Heuer, Hublot, and Swatch have all designed limited edition Lunar timepieces. For those in search of the perfect gift, brands like Dinny Hall, Mejuri, Olivia Burton, PDPaola, Bucherer, Tudor Astley Clarke, and Astrid & Miyu have carefully curated a selection of special items.

Fashion brands such as Paul Smith, Polo Ralph Lauren, IKKS Paris, NBA, and Ray-Ban are offering custom-made T-shirts, clothing, and accessories. New Era has even created Zodiac-inspired caps. Mulberry and Mira Mikati have prepared an exclusive collection that captures the spirit of the Dragon, while Radley London, Cambridge Satchel, and Strathberry have designed Lunar New Year accessories.

Yet, it doesn’t stop at fashion brands. Beauty giants like Rituals, Nars, Penhaligons, Creed, Charlotte Tilbury, Benefit, Chanel, Diptyque, Glossier, Jo Malone London, Kiehl’s, Le Labo, Miller Harris, L’Occitane, Parfums de Marly, and Tom Ford are all taking part in the festivities.

With such a diverse range of retailers and brands participating, London’s West End is set to become a vibrant and exciting hub for Lunar New Year celebrations. Whether you are interested in fashion, accessories, or beauty products, there is something for everyone to enjoy and commemorate the Year of the Dragon. Don’t miss out on this exceptional shopping experience in the heart of the city.
