London Fashion Week 40th Anniversary Schedule

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced the preliminary schedule for London Fashion Week (LFW), which will take place from 16-20 February. This year’s event, called ‘LFW40,’ marks the 40th anniversary of LFW, and will be headlined by iconic brand Burberry. The schedule also includes a ban on real fur, demonstrating the BFC’s commitment to ethical and sustainable practices within the fashion industry. However, it should be noted that LFW has been fur-free for some time, as many designers have opted for faux fur alternatives.

The event will begin on Friday morning with a collection presentation by Paul Costelloe at 09:00. As per tradition, Burberry will close the show with its highly anticipated Monday afternoon presentation at 16:00. The schedule aims to showcase London’s unique creative communities and position the city as a leading cultural capital through an innovative digital-physical hybrid format.

In addition to Burberry and Costelloe, the lineup includes renowned designers such as 16Arlington, Alhuwalia, David Koma, Dilara Findikoglu, Dunhill, Emilia Wickstead, Erdem, Eudon Choi, Fashion East, JW Anderson, KNWLS, Marques’Almeida, Molly Goddard, Richard Quinn, Roksanda, and Simone Rocha. These established fashion figures will present their latest collections, adding to the diversity and excitement of the event.

The BFC NewGen Show Space will be located at The Old Selfridges Hotel once again, featuring emerging designers who have been recognized for their exceptional talent. The lineup includes Aaron Esh, Ancuta Sarca, Chet Lo, Conner Ives, Derrick, DiPetsa, Feben, Harri, Helen Kirkum, Kazna Asker, Labrum London, Leo Carlton, Masha Popover, Paolo Carzana, Robyn Lynch, Saul Nash, Sinéad O’Dwyer, The Winter House, Tolu Coker, and Yuhan Wang. This platform provides invaluable exposure for up-and-coming designers and reflects the BFC’s dedication to supporting new talent.

A major highlight of this season’s LFW is the City Wide Celebration, a program of events and activations that are open to the public. This inclusive initiative aims to engage a wider audience in the world of fashion and celebrate London’s creativity and vibrancy.

The final schedule, which will include both physical and digital presentations, will be released in January. LFW40 is expected to be a remarkable showcase of talent, innovation, and sustainable fashion, reaffirming London’s position as a global fashion capital.
