The British Fashion Council (BFC) has recently announced the preliminary schedule for this year’s London Fashion Week (LFW). Taking place from September 15th to 19th, LFW will continue with its digital-physical hybrid format. Although the final schedule won’t be released until August, we already know that it will feature a mix of both womenswear and menswear designers, which is a departure from the traditionally womenswear-focused lineup.
There are several highly anticipated shows to look forward to during LFW. Burberry, led by designer Daniel Lee, will present their latest collection, along with other esteemed designers such as JW Anderson, Erdem, and Simone Rocha. Furthermore, 16Arlington, the winner of this year’s BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, will be returning to the schedule. Additionally, Chopova Lowena and Molly Goddard, recipients of the BFC Fashion Trust 2023, will also be showcasing their designs.
Apart from the established names, LFW will introduce a host of newcomers making their debut at the event. Designers such as Eirinn Hayhow, Holzweiler, Piferi (a BFC Fashion Trust 2023 recipient), Spencer Badu, and SRVC will be among the fresh faces at LFW, bringing something new and exciting to the fashion scene.
As part of the ongoing celebrations for the 30th anniversary of BFC Newgen, LFW will feature the Newgen Show Space at The Old Selfridges Hotel. This platform serves as a launchpad for emerging talent, and this edition will showcase newcomers like Aaron Esh, Derrick, Kazna Asker, The Winter House, and Tolu Coker.
Continuing its collaboration with Ukrainian Fashion Week, LFW will present collections from three Ukrainian designers—Gasanova, Sleeping Gypsy, and Nadya Dyzyak. This collaboration aims to promote international exchange and celebrate diverse fashion perspectives.
Furthermore, LFW will revive the LFW City Wide Celebration, which includes a program of events and activations open to the public. This initiative provides an opportunity for fashion enthusiasts and members of the public to engage with fashion on a larger scale.
As we eagerly await the official release of the final schedule in August, it is evident that London Fashion Week continues to be a platform for both established and emerging designers. This prestigious event showcases the best of British fashion on a global stage, captivating the attention of fashion enthusiasts and industry insiders alike.
