The London Designer Outlet (LDO) at Wembley Park has made an exciting announcement regarding the addition of the renowned shoe brand, Carvela, owned by Kurt Geiger. Carvela will soon be opening its own 1,673 sq ft store within the LDO, following its successful trading within the Kurt Geiger store located there. The decision to relocate the Carvela brand to its own dedicated space comes as Kurt Geiger aims to expand its accessories offering.
Joining Carvela in the expansion at LDO is The Cosmetics Company Store, which is part of the prestigious Estée Lauder Companies portfolio. This well-established cosmetics brand will be occupying a 1,387 sq ft space, set to open later this month. This addition is particularly timely, as the beauty and self-care market has been experiencing consistent growth even during the pandemic, with projections indicating an annual growth rate of over 6%. The LDO already hosts a range of beauty stores, including The Fragrance Shop, Beauty Outlet, and The Body Shop.
The new Carvela and The Cosmetics Company Store will be situated on the upper floor of the LDO, alongside other famous brands such as Nike, Phase 8, and Dune. Matt Slade, the Retail Director of Quintain, the company behind LDO, has observed a surge in interest from both accessories and beauty brands in recent months. He has also noticed a trend of brands expanding their offerings within these categories. Slade explains that during times of economic uncertainty, beauty and accessories tend to perform well, as consumers are drawn to affordable products. Additionally, these categories cater to a diverse customer base, appealing to a wide range of people.
The decision by Kurt Geiger to expand its presence at the London Designer Outlet is a clear indication of the outlet’s commercial appeal. This move will allow Kurt Geiger to utilize its existing space more effectively, enabling them to offer an expanded range of their latest lines and high-quality stock.
