Loewe’s Commitment to Art and Craftsmanship

Loewe, the renowned luxury fashion house, is proudly sponsoring Anthea Hamilton’s highly anticipated debut exhibition. Anthea Hamilton is a British artist recognized for her captivating installations, sculptures, videos, and performances. The exhibition, titled “Mash Up,” is taking place at the Museum of Modern Art in Antwerp, where Hamilton is showcasing a remarkable collection of 70 artworks. Curated by Anne-Claire Schmitz, this exhibition has been open to the public since February 18 and will continue to mesmerize visitors until May 15.

Loewe’s connection to the art world stretches far beyond its sponsorship of exhibitions. The brand’s stores are brimming with artistic and literary references, offering a truly immersive experience for its patrons. Notably, Jonathan Anderson, Loewe’s creative director, has fostered a deep relationship with the art world, further emphasizing the brand’s commitment to the fusion of fashion and art. Enter any Loewe store, like the one on Paris’ Rue Saint-Honoré, and you’ll be greeted by an enchanting blend of fashion pieces and captivating artworks, an inspiring ambiance that sets Loewe apart.

Furthermore, Loewe actively celebrates the art of craftsmanship through its foundation’s renowned Craft Prize. This distinguished award, now in its fifth edition, will be held in Seoul this June, where it will honor the exceptional work and talent of contemporary artists and artisans. The esteemed list of 30 finalists has already been announced, featuring renowned Spanish artist Trinidad Contreras among other remarkable talents. The Craft Prize serves as a tribute to Loewe’s artisanal heritage and exemplifies the brand’s unwavering dedication to supporting and promoting craftsmanship in all its forms.

Loewe’s steadfast commitment to both the arts and craftsmanship sets it apart within the luxury sector. Through its collaboration with Anthea Hamilton, as well as its continuous support for artists and artisans, Loewe showcases a deep-seated passion for creativity and innovation. As the brand continues to forge strong ties with the art world, it solidifies its position as a leader in the realms of both fashion and art.
