LOEWE Announces Collaboration with Japanese Animation Figure

LOEWE, the luxury fashion house under the artistic direction of Jonathan Anderson, has recently announced a collaboration with a prominent figure in Japanese animation for the year 2021. The collaboration will bring the world of Ghibli to LOEWE.

In a statement, Jonathan Anderson emphasized the importance of finding comfort during these challenging times. He believes that the film My Neighbor Totoro has the ability to provide that feeling of comfort to both children and adults. The collaboration aims to merge the serenity of the imaginary world with manual creativity while encouraging individuals to reconnect with nature and their inner child.

Although specific details about the collection have yet to be revealed, it has been confirmed that LOEWE will incorporate the iconic characters and settings from Hayao Miyazaki’s film into a range of ready-to-wear pieces such as t-shirts, hoodies, jackets, shoes, bags, and small accessories.

The capsule collection is set to be released on January 8th. Similar to Gucci’s upcoming launch, LOEWE has already begun accepting registrations, allowing customers to win exclusive access to the pre-launch of the collection on their website and in select physical stores, 24 hours before the official release.
