Luxury department store Liberty London has recently introduced an exciting new initiative aimed at supporting emerging designers in the fashion industry. Known as the Liberty Discovers programme, this annual initiative is designed to serve as a platform for up-and-coming talent. The inaugural edition of the programme features three talented designers from London Fashion Week: Duran Lantink, Matty Bovan, and Daniel Pascal Tanner.
The Liberty Discovers programme offers these designers a unique opportunity to receive mentorship from Liberty’s experienced buying team, along with valuable exposure through the brand’s various communication channels. Additionally, the selected designers will have exclusive access to Liberty’s two in-house studios for product and fabric design located at the iconic Regent Street store in Central London.
Duran Lantink, recognized for his innovative upcycling techniques, gained prominence for his striking ‘vagina’ trousers worn by Janelle Monae in the music video for Pynk. As a representative of the Netherlands at the International Fashion Showcase, Lantink is quickly making a name for himself in the fashion industry.
Matty Bovan, a talented designer originating from York, has received the prestigious BFC Newgen bursary for his remarkable SS19 and AW19 collections. Winner of the LVMH Graduate Prize in 2015, Bovan is celebrated for his exceptional and imaginative designs.
Lastly, Daniel Pascal Tanner, a British womenswear designer, collaborated with Liberty for the brand’s Alpine Symphony collection in 2018. Tanner’s work embodies a refined and contemporary aesthetic that harmonizes seamlessly with Liberty’s brand ethos.
