Laurent Boillot, the President and CEO of Maison Hennessy, has been chosen as the new President of Comité Colbert, an association focused on promoting the French luxury industry both domestically and internationally. Boillot will be taking over from Guillaume de Seynes, the General Director of Hermès, and his selection reflects the faith and trust placed in him by the association.
Boillot’s extensive experience in the luxury sector includes his previous role as President of Guerlain and his leadership of the International Influence Commission of Comité Colbert from 2017 to 2020. His election to the position was unanimous, highlighting the confidence the association has in his abilities.
Expressing his joy and pride in being appointed to this role, Boillot emphasized his dedication to upholding and advancing the collective spirit and initiatives of Comité Colbert. The association’s mission is to preserve, develop, and pass on the expertise and values of French luxury while fostering ongoing dialogue with cultures worldwide.
Founded in 1954, Comité Colbert comprises 90 French luxury brands and 17 cultural institutions. Its primary objective is to safeguard, transmit, and promote French creative endeavors on a global scale. Recently, the association collaborated with IFOP to present a comprehensive study on the perception of French luxury, offering invaluable insights into the industry.
Laurent Boillot, who has served as the President of Maison Hennessy since January 2020, will begin his tenure as President of Comité Colbert in June 2022. Working alongside Bénédicte Epinay, the General Delegate of Comité Colbert, he will strive to further the association’s goals and aspirations.
