Lanvin Unveils Lanvin Lab Collection in Collaboration with Future

Lanvin, in collaboration with musician and producer Future, has recently unveiled its first-ever Lanvin Lab collection. This new collection is a tribute to Future’s strength and attitude, drawing inspiration from his nickname “Pluto” and the symbolism associated with the former ninth planet in our solar system. Known for representing regeneration and transformation, Pluto serves as the perfect muse for this collaboration.

The Lanvin Lab project was initiated earlier this year as a means to encourage creative collaboration and cultural dialogue between artists and designers. By partnering with Future for this particular project, Lanvin draws parallels between his creative prowess and the ethos of Jeanne Lanvin, the founder of the brand. Jeanne Lanvin flourished during the time of Pluto’s discovery in 1930, an era marked by great creativity and exploration.

What adds an extra layer of relevance to this collaboration is Future’s connection to the mother-daughter relationship between Jeanne and Marguerite Lanvin. As the founder of Freebandz, an entertainment company that prioritizes family-centric values, Future truly understands the significance of this bond. The inaugural Lanvin Lab collection is a homage to Marguerite, who herself was a renowned musician and muse.

Future’s approach to this collection is driven by a desire to create a distinct vibe that can be felt when wearing the garments. He shares a commonality with Jeanne Lanvin, as they both draw inspiration from their personal experiences and lifestyles. The collection showcases Future’s penchant for layering and tailoring, as well as his love for accessories. Standout pieces include faux-fur hats, sunglasses, and metal accents on belts, bags, gloves, and leather goods, all of which contribute to the collection’s unique aesthetic. Additionally, the collection offers sleep sets that encompass slippers, a pillow, and a mask.

Influenced by the rich heritage of Lanvin, Future has incorporated elements from the brand’s archives into his designs. Notably, he has created a striking leather jacket adorned with metallic studs arranged in the form of a constellation. Typography from Lanvin perfume campaigns from the 1930s and 1940s is also printed onto denim, paying homage to the brand’s history. Alongside these pieces, Future introduces his own updated sneaker, the Curb 3.0, adding a contemporary touch to the collection.

To showcase this exceptional collaboration, a campaign featuring Future and model Amelia Gray was photographed by Joshua Woods. The Lanvin Lab collection will be released in multiple drops, with the first drop scheduled for Monday and subsequent drops continuing into early 2024.
