Lanvin Undergoing Significant Leadership Change

Lanvin, the renowned Parisian fashion label owned by Fosun International’s luxury division, is undergoing a significant leadership change. Arnaud Bazin, who joined Lanvin as the deputy CEO last year after leaving Versace, has been replaced by Siddhartha Shukla. Shukla, an Asian-American executive and luxury expert, has been appointed as the new deputy general manager and will assume his role at the end of the year.

In his new position, Shukla will be based in Paris and will primarily focus on global expansion, with a particular emphasis on commercial development, product strategy, digital excellence, and brand positioning. He will work alongside Grace Zhao, the fellow deputy GM in charge of Lanvin’s business in China and the Asia-Pacific region, and will report to Joann Cheng, the president of Lanvin and the Lanvin Group. It is worth mentioning that the company operates with twin headquarters in Paris and Shanghai, reinforcing its global presence and reach.

Shukla brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held various positions within the luxury industry. With a Yale degree under his belt, he has previously worked at renowned brands such as Theory, Reed Krakoff, Gucci, and Yves Saint Laurent. Cheng expressed her confidence in Shukla’s abilities, highlighting his extensive knowledge of the sector, diverse career background, and global vision as the qualities that make him the ideal leader for Lanvin.

Being fluent in four languages, Shukla is eager to embark on the challenge of defining and establishing Lanvin’s unique position in the global market. He strongly believes that fashion requires new operational systems driven by innovative ideas and ingenuity. Shukla aims to create a model at Lanvin that not only delivers exceptional products and experiences for customers but also generates outstanding commercial results for shareholders.

Under the creative direction of Bruno Sialelli, Lanvin is expected to regain its pre-pandemic sales levels in 2021. The brand has witnessed robust commercial performance in China and the USA and has experienced growing success in its accessories category. With 25 monobrand stores and distribution through approximately 300 retailers worldwide, Lanvin is well-positioned for further expansion and success.

With the appointment of Siddhartha Shukla as the deputy general manager, Lanvin is poised for a new era of growth and achievement. The brand’s renewed vision and energy, combined with Shukla’s exceptional leadership skills and expertise, position Lanvin to make a significant impact in the fashion industry. The future looks promising for this iconic Parisian label.
