Lacoste, the well-known fashion-sport brand, is preparing to commemorate its 90th anniversary with a special vintage pop-up store in Shoreditch, London. This temporary store will serve as a showcase for Lacoste’s rich history and its iconic Crocodile logo. To ensure that its heritage is represented authentically, Lacoste has joined forces with Wavey Garms, a vintage resale brand, and its founder, Andres Branco, a passionate Lacoste fan, to carefully curate the vintage Lacoste collection that will be available at the pop-up.
Scheduled to be open from September 14th to 26th at the Truman Brewery, this pop-up will offer more than 400 vintage pieces, including tracksuits, polos, and runway pieces. With prices ranging from £50 to £350, the event aims to be accessible for fans with all types of budgets.
On top of the impressive vintage collection, Wavey Garms has organized various in-store activities. Visitors will have the opportunity to experience a dubplate cutting machine and participate in a workshop day hosted by the women’s DJ collective, EQ50. Rinse FM, a popular radio station, will also be present, hosting live performances throughout the two-week period.
Inspired by Lacoste’s connection to the former Hacienda club, the pop-up space will be adorned with unique graffiti created by renowned UK tagging artists Tox, Petro, and Henry Hotrocc. To commemorate the brand’s milestone, Lacoste has collaborated with each artist to design 30 limited edition polos, which will be exclusively available for purchase during the opening weekend.
The pop-up will shine a spotlight on Lacoste’s deep ties to rave and music subcultures. The brand has teamed up with Resident Advisor (RA), a leading platform for electronic music, to produce a four-part content series. This collaboration aims to showcase the electronic music scene in the UK and delve into the creative process of four artists – Alewya, Josh Caffé, Nightmares on Wax, and re:ni. Through film, these artists will share their stories, discuss their impact on the UK music scene, and express what Lacoste means to them personally.
Lacoste’s 90th anniversary pop-up in Shoreditch promises to be a nostalgic celebration of the brand’s heritage. With a thoughtfully curated vintage collection, immersive in-store experiences, and collaborations with influential artists and platforms, Lacoste invites both fashion and music enthusiasts to fully immerse themselves in its storied history and artistic connections.
