Kering Supports Florence’s Rinasce Firenze Plan

Kering, the renowned luxury group, is actively participating in the “Rinasce Firenze” plan spearheaded by the city of Florence amidst the global pandemic. The primary objective of this initiative is to stimulate the social and economic recovery of the city by providing support to various sectors including culture, economy, education, and tourism.

Having strong connections with Florence, as it houses the iconic Gucci and its ArtLab, along with being a production hub for Saint Laurent and Balenciaga, Kering is reinforcing its local involvement by assisting in the renovation of the lighting in the initial courtyard of the Palazzo Vecchio. This courtyard, established in 1453, serves as the esteemed court for the illustrious Florence palace, which also serves as the city hall.

François-Henri Pinault, the Chairman and CEO of Kering, expressed, “When we contemplate investing in craftsmanship and management skills, this region naturally comes to mind due to its long-standing tradition of offering exceptional quality.” He further emphasized the “special significance” of Florence and Tuscany for the entire Kering Group.

The modernization of the lighting in the Palazzo Vecchio is set to commence in the upcoming months and will continue throughout 2021. This project endeavors to augment the historical grandeur of the palace while contributing to the overall rejuvenation of Florence. By lending support to initiatives like “Rinasce Firenze”, Kering is demonstrating its commitment towards safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage alongside its dedication to the local communities it serves.
