Kering Strengthens Paternity and Partner Leave Policies

In order to further enhance its commitment to corporate social and environmental responsibility, luxury company Kering is taking steps to strengthen its paternity and partner leave policies. Recognizing the importance of creating an inclusive and supportive work environment, Kering has implemented a policy that grants 14 weeks of fully paid maternity or adoption leave, as well as five days of fully paid paternity or partner leave since 2017.

However, the company understands that societal norms are evolving, and in an effort to promote equality, Kering will now extend the 14-week “Baby Leave” benefit to all parents without exception, including fathers and partners, starting from January 1, 2020. This policy will be applicable within six months following the birth or adoption of a child. As a global organization operating in approximately fifty countries, Kering’s commitment to equitable social benefits ensures that all employees, regardless of their personal or geographical situation, are provided with the same support.

“We are dedicated to fostering diversity and equality among our employees, and the implementation of Baby Leave is a significant milestone in this endeavor. It is our pride to offer support to all parents, irrespective of their circumstances. By ensuring that fathers and partners have access to the same benefits, we not only guarantee equal rights for all our employees, but also promote the well-being of women in the workplace. This policy change allows for both men and women to have equal opportunity to take extended leave, as we aim to create an inclusive and supportive work environment for all our employees worldwide. Our objective is clear: to become an employer of choice.” said Béatrice Lazat, HR Director of Kering.

Kering has been actively working towards achieving gender parity and pay equality at all levels of the organization. With their CEO, François-Henri Pinault, recently presenting the Fashion Pact at the G7 in Biarritz, Kering continues to take significant steps towards creating a more inclusive and diverse workplace.
