Kering Partners with Prospect 100 for Global Sustainable Fashion Competition

Luxury group Kering has teamed up with Prospect 100, a platform focused on young project holders, to launch a global sustainable fashion competition. In light of the pandemic, the entrepreneurs Adam Flanagan, Alexandre Daillance, and Harry Beard wanted to find a way to give more visibility to the talents of the new generation. They developed Prospect 100, a series of competitions specifically designed for individuals under the age of 25. With the support of experts and mentors in various fields such as design, innovation, and music, these contests aim to create opportunities for young creatives.

Kering, the company behind renowned brands like Alexander McQueen, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Gucci, and Saint Laurent, has taken notice of this initiative and decided to partner with Prospect 100 on a special edition of their Global Design Competition, focusing on responsible fashion. Participants are tasked with presenting a garment from all angles and coming up with innovative ways to make it more sustainable throughout its entire lifecycle.

The competition will take place from September 7th to 14th and will be organized in teams of four. Participants can either form their own teams or have teams created for them based on complementary profiles. Each project must be presented through a 60-second video pitch accompanied by up to ten slides. A jury of ten experts, including Marie Claire Daveu, Kering’s Director of Sustainable Development and International Institutional Affairs, will evaluate the submissions.

The winners of the competition will receive a cash prize of $4,000 and will have the opportunity to attend a Masterclass organized by Kering’s Sustainability team. Additionally, the top five finalists will gain access to the “Shape Fashion’s Future” program developed by the Institut Français de la Mode in partnership with Kering. All participants will also benefit from a Masterclass on public relations organized by Thred, a media outlet that focuses on driving social change.

Registration for the competition is free and open internationally until September 6th. Interested individuals can sign up on the dedicated Prospect 100 x Kering website.
