In celebration of the European Heritage Days, luxury group Kering is opening the doors of its headquarters located at 40 rue de Sèvres in Paris this weekend. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the company has allowed the public to explore its iconic address in the 7th arrondissement. However, due to the current social distancing measures, the visit to this historic site has been adapted.
To bring the past of the former Laennec hospital to life, professional actors have been employed to perform short scenes. Visitors can immerse themselves in the unique space, which also houses the headquarters of the renowned fashion house Balenciaga. As they navigate the premises, participants will also have the opportunity to discover images and archival videos through a series of QR codes.
For the 37th edition of the Heritage Days, visitors will be treated to a special exhibition of “Paysage espagnol (Vegas del condado),” a monumental artwork by artist Paul Rebeyrolle from the Pinault Collection. This masterpiece will be displayed outside the walls in the Laennec Chapel, a structure that was built under Louis XIII.
In addition to opening its doors to the general public, Kering also aims to show its appreciation for healthcare workers. On Saturday, September 19, private tours will be organized exclusively for healthcare personnel from 7pm to 9pm. Reservations can be made through healthcare institutions.
