Kering Launches Kering x The Explorers Competition for Biodiversity Conservation

Luxury group Kering is taking a proactive approach to biodiversity conservation through the launch of a new competition. The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness about the importance of protecting animals and locations around the world that are in need of conservation efforts.

The competition, called Kering x The Explorers, encourages participants to submit three photographs online showcasing these endangered animals and locations. These images will be uploaded to the Crafting Tomorrow’s Luxury platform, where they will be available for public voting. The three most liked photos will earn their creators a prize from either Gucci’s eco-responsible collection, Gucci Off the Grid, or a Dodo Tenaka bracelet made from recycled plastic.

While originally intended for Kering and its house’s employees, the Crafting Tomorrow’s Luxury platform has now been opened to the public, allowing anyone to participate. This move reflects Kering’s commitment to engaging a wider audience in sustainability issues. The platform has already seen success in late 2021 with a quiz contest focused on circularity.

The creation of this platform, along with the launch of the Earth challenge, is in line with Kering’s strategy of prioritizing biodiversity conservation as one of its key sustainable development commitments. By raising awareness and involving the public in these efforts, Kering is ensuring that these important issues receive the attention they deserve.
