Lindberg has experienced remarkable growth over the past 35 years under the leadership of co-founder and CEO Henrik Lindberg. This has piqued the interest of the Kering group, which has approached Lindberg for a potential acquisition multiple times. The brand stands out for its innovative manufacturing techniques, which include using materials like titanium, buffalo horn, and acetate for its frames. Lindberg also holds several patents for its advancements in the eyewear industry, such as hypoallergenic frames and screwless hinges.
Presently, Lindberg operates in 135 countries and collaborates with 6,000 partners globally. While the financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed, the acquisition is expected to be finalized in the coming months.
Roberto Vedovotto, CEO of Kering Eyewear, expressed his enthusiasm for the addition of Lindberg to the portfolio, stating, “Lindberg is synonymous with exceptional luxury in the eyewear market. The brand will perfectly complement the portfolio built by Kering Eyewear since 2014, while strengthening its position among specialized distributors.”
Lindberg will now join the ranks of other prestigious brands under the Kering Eyewear umbrella, including Balenciaga, Montblanc, Cartier, and Saint Laurent. This development solidifies Kering Eyewear’s position as a powerhouse in the luxury eyewear industry.
