Kenzo’s Artistic Director Felipe Oliveira Baptista to Step Down in June 2021

Kenzo’s artistic director, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, has announced that he will be stepping down from his position at the beginning of summer. The departure is set for June 2021, making it the latest change in the fashion industry following Kris Van Assche’s departure from Berluti. The news was confirmed through a press release, stating that Baptista’s contract with the brand will come to an end in June 2021 and he will be leaving his position.

In a statement, Baptista expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve Kenzo and the legacy of its founder, Kenzo Takada. He also thanked his teams for their talent and commitment throughout his time with the brand. Prior to his role at Kenzo, Baptista has worked for renowned fashion houses such as Max Mara, Cerruti, Christophe Lemaire, and Lacoste.

Baptista took on the position at Kenzo in July 2019, succeeding Humberto Leon and Carol Lim. During his tenure, he brought a fresh graphic identity to the brand, introducing a new logo and overseeing Kenzo’s successful debut on Alibaba’s Luxury Pavilion in China.
