Kenzo Partners with WWF for Tiger Conservation

Kenzo, the world-renowned fashion brand, has recently announced its partnership with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for a new and important environmental initiative. This collaboration is centered around the brand’s emblematic animal, the tiger, and is part of WWF’s ambitious “Tx2” project. The main objective of this project is to double the population of wild tigers by the end of 2022.

Over the past century, the global tiger population has seen a significant decline. In 2010, there were only around 3,200 tigers left in the wild, compared to over 100,000 a hundred years prior. Although there have been some positive conservation efforts to increase these numbers, the wild tiger species remains in great danger of extinction.

To show its support for tiger conservation, Kenzo has taken action by launching a special capsule collection on September 28. For every item sold from this collection, $10 will be donated to WWF to aid their conservation efforts. The collection, which has been designed by Kenzo’s creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista, includes sweatshirts, t-shirts, and dresses made from 100% organic cotton. By offering an environmentally conscious collection, Kenzo demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and ethical fashion.

This collaboration between Kenzo and WWF goes beyond a one-off project. The fashion brand and the Swiss NGO are working together on various programs aimed at enhancing the sustainability of Kenzo’s cotton supply chain. Additionally, they are exploring projects related to water usage within Kenzo’s production processes, highlighting the brand’s dedication to responsible manufacturing practices.

Kenzo’s long-standing association with the iconic tiger has made it a symbol of the brand. By joining forces with WWF and supporting the Tx2 project, Kenzo aims to make a significant contribution to the conservation and preservation of these magnificent creatures. This collaboration showcases the brand’s commitment to not only producing innovative and inspiring fashion but also to making a positive impact on the environment and wildlife.
