Kate Spade Opens New Store at Bullring in Birmingham

Kate Spade, the renowned luxury fashion and lifestyle brand, has strategically chosen Hammerson’s Bullring shopping center in Birmingham as the location for its new store in the UK. Situated on the upper level of the shopping center, right next to the prestigious Selfridges department store, the 1,500 sq ft store is one of the few standalone locations for the brand in the UK. Its flagship store is located on London’s iconic Regent Street.

Founded in 1993 by Kate Spade, the label is celebrated for its designer handbags, unique designs, and vibrant aesthetic. Following Kate Spade’s departure in 2006, the brand came under the ownership of American multinational Tapestry Inc, which also oversees Coach and Stuart Weitzman.

The newly opened Kate Spade store at the Bullring exudes the brand’s playful design philosophy, boasting pink walls, luxurious velvet seating, and stylish fittings. In addition to the brand’s signature handbag collection, the store offers a range of shoes, jewelry, homewares, and tech accessories.

This month, the Bullring will also welcome another exciting debut with Peloton, the global fitness platform, opening its first showroom in the West Midlands within the Birmingham shopping center. Iain Mitchell, the UK commercial director at Hammerson, expressed his enthusiasm for these new additions, highlighting the lasting appeal of destinations like Bullring & Grand Central for brands and customers alike. Despite the current challenges faced by the retail industry, Mitchell remains optimistic about the potential for strong, unique offerings such as Kate Spade and Peloton to thrive in prominent locations like the Bullring.
