Karl Lagerfeld x Bosa: A Unique Collection of Sculptures

The late fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld has collaborated posthumously with Venetian ceramics specialist Bosa to create a unique collection of sculptures. The collaboration, titled Karl Lagerfeld x Bosa, will be unveiled at the Salone Del Mobile design fair in Milan later this month. Bosa, known for their craftsmanship in ceramics, has meticulously crafted limited-edition pieces adorned with 24 karat gold and platinum paints.

The collection features two distinct sculptures that pay tribute to Lagerfeld’s iconic style. The first sculpture, “Pop Karl,” is a playful representation created by Elena Salmistraro, known for her imaginative use of color and texture. The second sculpture, “Rock Karl,” is designed by Nika Zupanc and captures Lagerfeld’s signature look of a black suit, white shirt, and dark sunglasses. The sculptures also incorporate pops of color on the collar and brushed gold accents on the fingerless gloves. Each sculpture stands at 41cm in height and 18cm in width.

The announcement of this collaboration coincides with the release of images from a special issue of American Vogue dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld. Additionally, the upcoming Met Gala in 2023 will feature an exhibition in the Costume Institute honoring Lagerfeld, titled “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.”

Both Karl Lagerfeld and Bosa share a commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. Lagerfeld’s brand has collaborated with supermodel Amber Valletta to create a cactus leather collection. On the other hand, Bosa has supported endangered species through special collections dedicated to various animals since 2020, including sea turtles, forest pandas, polar penguins, and African elephants.

The Karl Lagerfeld x Bosa collection will be available for purchase on the Karl Lagerfeld website, select Karl Lagerfeld boutiques, and chosen Bosa retailers worldwide. The brand continues to focus on Parisian-inspired classics with a rock-chic attitude following Lagerfeld’s passing. Under the creative vision of Design Director Hun Kim, the Maison offers a range of ready-to-wear for women, men, and kids, as well as various accessories such as bags, small leather goods, footwear, fragrances, and eyewear. With 120 stores globally, including key locations in Paris, London, Munich, Dubai, and Shanghai, and an online store delivering to 96 countries, Lagerfeld’s iconic designs reach a wide global audience.
