Jordan x Dior Capsule Collection Receives Overwhelming Response

According to a report by WWD, the collaborative capsule collection between luxury house Dior and Nike’s Air Jordan brand received an overwhelming response from fans. A staggering five million avid fans registered on the platform created by the two brands for the launch of the collection.

Dubbed as Jordan x Dior, this luxury drop had already created a buzz even before its release. Out of the 13,000 pairs of sneakers produced, Dior reserved 5,000 pairs for its premium customers, making them even more exclusive. The remaining 8,000 pairs were made available on the market.

Soon after the dedicated website went live on July 8th, the Air Dior sneakers sold out within no time. With prices ranging from $2,000 to $2,200, depending on the low or high-top versions, the demand for these sneakers was unprecedented.

The delay in the launch of the collection, from March to July, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, further intensified consumer enthusiasm in both the collaborative market and the sneaker market in general. Sneakers have become a highly lucrative market, and this collaboration between Dior and Air Jordan only added fuel to the fire.
