Italy Gears up for Men’s Fashion Shows

Italy is gearing up for the spotlight as it hosts two major men’s fashion shows: Pitti Uomo and Milan Fashion Week. Taking place from June 13 to June 20, these events will showcase the spring-summer 2024 collections, following the recent fashion extravaganza in London.

Although some prominent fashion houses like Versace, Gucci, Moschino, and Missoni will not be present this season, there are still plenty of exciting highlights and discoveries in store. Fendi, owned by LVMH, will be a main attraction, choosing to leave Milan for a special show in Tuscany. The luxury brand will unveil its new collection at its recently inaugurated factory, Fendi Factory. The show will also feature a presentation by guest designer Eli Russell Linnetz for the ERL label. Additionally, Chu Suwannapha, the founder of Chulaap, will present a special installation.

Pitti Uomo’s 104th edition will include various new projects and special events, featuring 825 exhibitors, including 43% from abroad. This marks an increase compared to previous editions, highlighting the growing international participation. The program will celebrate the anniversaries of Arena, Doucal’s shoes, and Fila’s F Box logo, as well as the 15th anniversary of Giuseppe Zanotti’s men’s collection. It will also witness the return of German brand Drykorn and the participation of Florentine tailor Liverano & Liverano for the first time.

Milan Fashion Week will commence on June 16, with Valentino taking the spotlight as the opening show. This marks the brand’s return to Milan after almost a decade. The reduced format of Milan Fashion Week includes 22 shows spread over two full days and two half-days, with five digital shows being broadcasted on June 20. Notable comebacks include Neil Barrett and the brand 44 Label Group. The return of Ralph Lauren Purple Label line is also highly anticipated.

Excitingly, there will be new arrivals to the fashion scene. Andersson Bell, a Seoul-based brand known for its fusion of Korean street style and Scandinavian minimalism, will make its Milan debut on June 18.

Aside from the main events, there will be parallel events like the “Runways Icons” group show organized by LuisaViaRoma and British Vogue. This star-studded show will feature the looks of around fifty luxury labels and is expected to attract celebrities like George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio.

With a rich lineup of shows, special events, and new discoveries, the Italian men’s fashion shows promise to captivate the fashion world once again. These events will showcase Italy’s creativity, craftsmanship, and unique style, solidifying its position as a global fashion powerhouse.
