Italian Luxury Brands Brioni and Tod’s Make a Statement at Milano Moda Uomo

Italian luxury brands Brioni and Tod’s have made a significant impact in the fashion world with their exceptional collections showcased at Milano Moda Uomo. Brioni, renowned for its elegant and sophisticated menswear designs, presented a range of subtly chic pieces under the direction of designer Norbert Stumpfl. The collection featured innovative designs such as a black tuxedo with raised velvet geometric patterns, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship. Stumpfl also introduced a micro herringbone jacket and shirt in black, gray, and navy, created using screen printing with real silver accents. The carefully selected color palette included items like a lemon cashmere double-breasted blazer paired with a rose-hued shirt and a silk and cashmere shawl collar suit in burgundy.

Brioni’s expansion strategy under CEO Mehdi Benabadji focuses on refurbishing stores in major cities worldwide, with the aim of creating an elegant Roman apartment ambiance in their boutiques. Their stores incorporate Italian design pieces with a 1970s and 80s aesthetic while showcasing their collaboration with the MITA Foundation. With a network of 35 stores globally, Brioni is optimistic about achieving double-digit growth and maintains partnerships with reputable department and specialty stores.

Tod’s, on the other hand, presented its collection titled “Un Giardino Italiano” at the breathtaking Villa Necchi. Despite facing challenges in recent years, the brand displayed a strong artistic and commercial focus. The collection featured rarefied materials and a more relaxed silhouette. Designer Walter Chiapponi drew inspiration from beautiful landscapes and created sleek and minimal pieces in dark earth tones. Creamy suede shirts, jackets, nylon jerkins, and tufa-hued suede dusters were paired with single pleated pants, exuding a sophisticated yet effortless look. Chiapponi also introduced a fresh take on the brand’s monogram, incorporating a triangular leather pattern in field jackets and bombers. Tod’s expanding presence in China was evident with the attendance of numerous Chinese industry professionals at the show. To meet the growing demand, the brand has made key hires in its menswear team. Guests at the event were treated to delicious pink Bellinis prepared by Casa Cipriani Milano, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

Both Brioni and Tod’s continue to captivate the fashion industry with their impeccable craftsmanship, innovative designs, and strategic expansion plans. These Italian luxury brands have once again proven their timeless appeal and ability to remain at the forefront of menswear fashion.
