Italian Fashion Designer Nino Cerruti Passes Away

Italian fashion designer Nino Cerruti, renowned for his iconic designs in men’s fashion, passed away on January 15th, in his hometown of Piedmont. The 91-year-old designer’s death was a result of surgical complications in northern Italy, according to reports from Agence France Presse.

Nino Cerruti’s illustrious career spanned several decades, beginning when he took over his father’s textile factory at the age of 20. In 1957, he ventured into the world of fashion with his own men’s ready-to-wear line called Hitman. A decade later, he established his luxury fashion house, known as Cerruti 1881. The designer’s unique and sophisticated touch brought an elegant yet casual style to men’s wardrobes, captivating fashion enthusiasts around the world. As his brand grew in popularity, Cerruti expanded into women’s fashion, accessories, and fragrances.

In 2001, Nino Cerruti made the decision to sell his fashion house to Italian investors, and it was subsequently acquired by the Trinity Group. Unfortunately, Cerruti 1881 is currently going through a process of liquidation.

Nino Cerruti’s impact on the fashion industry is undeniable. His elegant and casual style revolutionized men’s fashion, with his brand becoming synonymous with luxury and sophistication.
