Italian fashion designer Luca Magliano has been announced as the guest designer for the upcoming Pitti Uomo 105 event, which is scheduled to take place in Florence from January 9-12, 2024. The founder of his eponymous label, Magliano will present a special runway show at a yet-to-be-disclosed location in the Tuscan capital. This collaboration comes as no surprise, as Magliano has garnered attention in the fashion industry for his ability to reinterpret Italian cultural and social influences in a unique way, as well as his strong emphasis on teamwork.
Lapo Cianchi, head of communication and events at Pitti Immagine, explained the committee’s decision to select Magliano as the guest designer for the event. He said, “We chose Magliano for several reasons. Firstly, he has an exceptional talent for representing the cultural and social canons typically associated with Italian fashion in a refreshing manner. Additionally, we believe it’s important to follow the careers and stylistic evolution of designers who have debuted at Pitti Uomo and have gained international recognition. Magliano, winner of Who’s On Next 2017 and Pitti Italics recipient in 2018, embodies this perfectly. Lastly, we simply admire him for his generosity, enthusiasm, and refined simplicity, which truly embody the Bolognese spirit.”
Magliano first showcased his brand at Pitti Uomo in 2018 with a runway show titled “Wardrobe for a Man in Love,” which emphasized the concept of personal elegance and the idea that luxury can be found in small gestures. Since then, he has become a regular participant at Milan Fashion Week, solidifying his position as an influential force in the industry.
