Istituto Marangoni Expands with New Campus in Dubai

Istituto Marangoni, the highly esteemed fashion school based in Milan, is taking its international presence to new heights with the upcoming launch of a new campus in Dubai. After two years of careful planning and development, this exciting project is set to become a reality in October 2022, signifying the school’s entry into the flourishing Middle Eastern market for fashion and luxury.

The decision to establish a school in Dubai was driven by market research, which highlighted the need for a comprehensive institute offering fashion, art, and interior design studies in the region. Recognizing the absence of any other structured institution providing a similar program, Istituto Marangoni seized the opportunity to position itself as a leader in the Middle East and further enhance its already strong reputation in the region.

Situated in the prestigious Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the new campus will offer a three-year fashion and design course, as well as a 12-month master’s program. The diplomas granted by the school will be validated by the emirate’s Ministry of Education, guaranteeing their recognition and credibility.

To ensure the delivery of top-notch education, Istituto Marangoni intends to hire 70% of its teaching staff from Italy, with the remaining faculty members recruited locally. The new campus aims to enroll approximately 50 students for its inaugural class, promising an intimate and personalized learning experience.

Moreover, the school will establish a connection between its Dubai and Mumbai campuses. This collaborative effort will enable students from the Mumbai campus to complete their final years of studies in Dubai, while Dubai-based students will have the opportunity to continue their education at other Istituto Marangoni institutes worldwide.

The addition of the Dubai campus will join the ranks of Istituto Marangoni’s prestigious schools, which already include two campuses in Milan (one dedicated to interior design), as well as locations in Florence, Paris, London, Mumbai, Miami, Shanghai, and Shenzhen. With a total of ten campuses worldwide, Istituto Marangoni solidifies its position as a global leader in fashion education.

In addition to expanding its physical campuses, Istituto Marangoni is embracing the digital realm of education. The school has announced the launch of a new hybrid online master’s program, commencing in June. This innovative program combines digital and in-person learning, providing students with a flexible and comprehensive educational experience.

Istituto Marangoni actively collaborates with industry professionals and mentors to enhance its educational offerings. Recent partnerships with renowned designers such as Massimo Giorgetti, Riccardo Grassi, and Olivier Rousteing in Paris have added immense value to the school’s curriculum.

As the fashion industry undergoes significant transformations, Stefania Valenti, the managing director of Istituto Marangoni, emphasizes the importance of digital skills and sustainability. Professionals who possess a deep understanding of merging online and physical distribution, as well as sustainable practices in production, are highly sought after in the industry.

The opening of the Dubai campus represents a thrilling new chapter for Istituto Marangoni as it expands its global reach and continues to provide exceptional fashion education to aspiring designers from all corners of the world.
