Isabella Burley Named Chief Marketing Officer of Acne Studios

Isabella Burley, formerly the editor-in-chief of Dazed magazine, has recently been named the chief marketing officer of Acne Studios, a renowned Swedish fashion brand. This appointment signifies a growing trend of influential journalists venturing into the fashion industry, specifically in marketing positions.

As the new chief marketing officer, Burley will assume responsibility for overseeing global marketing and communication strategies, as well as shaping the brand identity of Acne Studios, a brand that has been in the industry for 26 years. Despite the brand’s headquarters being in Stockholm, Burley will continue to work from London, where she has established herself as an influential figure in the fashion scene.

Burley’s journey to Acne Studios began in 2015 when she assumed the role of editor-in-chief at Dazed magazine. She held this prestigious position until early 2021 when she decided to move on, making way for Ibrahim Kamara to take over. During her tenure at Dazed, Burley also took on the role of editor-in-residence at Helmut Lang and played a significant role in the development of the Marc Jacobs Heaven project.

Before joining Acne Studios as the chief marketing officer, Burley initially joined the brand in 2021 as the creative editor. This experience allowed her to gain valuable insights into the inner workings of the company and actively contribute to its creative direction.

With her extensive background in collaborating with luxury brands, Burley is undoubtedly well-prepared for her new role at Acne Studios. Her previous work at Dazed and other ventures has equipped her with the necessary skills and expertise to effectively elevate the brand’s image and expand its global reach. This appointment underscores the fashion industry’s recognition of the importance of having a diverse and versatile team consisting of individuals from various professional backgrounds.

Burley’s marketing expertise and creative vision are expected to help Acne Studios strengthen its brand image and establish a stronger global presence. As the fashion industry continues to evolve, the growing trend of journalists like Burley assuming key marketing positions highlights the increasing overlap between fashion and the media.
