Instagram Master Class in Paris for Fashion and Beauty Brands

Instagram recently held its inaugural master class in Paris, drawing in a crowd of over 300 fashion and beauty brands eager to enhance their presence on the platform. The event, headlined by Eva Chen, a fashion influencer and Instagram’s Head of Fashion Partnerships, aimed to provide valuable insights and strategies to brands looking to elevate their Instagram game.

Julie Pellet, who leads Instagram’s brand development in southern Europe, emphasized the importance of aiding brands in their quest to optimize their presence on the platform. With limited resources, many brands struggle to navigate the ever-evolving world of social media, making events like this master class invaluable.

A diverse range of brands were in attendance at the event, representing both emerging labels like Patine and Make My Lemonade, as well as established luxury brands such as Dior and Louis Vuitton. Despite the varied backgrounds of the brands present, a common concern emerged: how to set themselves apart in a crowded and competitive network.

Eva Chen’s advice to create exclusive content, utilize specific hashtags, and leverage Instagram’s video tool resonated with attendees looking to increase their visibility. For smaller companies especially, visibility is key to attracting an audience and driving engagement.

In addition to boosting visibility, brands are also eager to harness the power of Instagram to drive sales. The introduction of Instagram Shopping in France in March 2018 opened up new possibilities for brands to showcase products and facilitate seamless purchasing directly on the platform. Brands like La Redoute, a beta tester for Instagram Shopping, reported a noteworthy increase in website visits, underscoring the potential for brands to see tangible results through Instagram.

Overall, the master class served as a valuable platform for brands to exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, and explore new strategies to elevate their presence and drive success on Instagram.
