Indian Designers Shine at Bicester Village

Indian designers are taking center stage this month at Bicester Village, one of the premier luxury shopping destinations in the UK. The concept store, set to open on May 17th, aims to highlight the best of contemporary Indian design as part of the ‘All Things India’ summer campaign.

Curated by renowned fashion expert Roohi Jaikishan and fashion editor Sujata Assomull, the pop-up boutique will feature a curated selection of established Indian designers and brands. From the colorful creations of Manish Arora to the ethical fashion of Behno, visitors can expect to discover a diverse range of offerings at the store. Other featured names include Pippa Small, Huemn, Dhruv Kapoor, and Kanika Goyal Label, among others.

In addition to the fashion displays, the concept store will also showcase unique creations by brands such as Kashmir Loom, Khosla Jani, and Tada & Toy. One of the highlights of the space will be a life-sized elephant sculpture made from natural fibers, serving as a powerful symbol to raise awareness about the conservation of these majestic animals in collaboration with the Elephant Family.

Desirée Bollier, Chair and Chief Merchant at Value Retail Management, expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration with Indian designers. She emphasized the significance of showcasing the talent of these designers on an international platform, further solidifying India’s presence in the global design landscape.

Curator Sujata Assomull, who brings a unique perspective as someone who grew up in England but now resides in India, reflected on the evolving appeal of contemporary Indian fashion. She noted the blend of heritage and trendiness in Indian fashion, which is evident in the latest collections from designers featured at the concept store. Assomull highlighted the synergy between Bicester Village, a popular shopping destination for many Indians, and the celebration of contemporary Indian fashion.

The ‘All Things India’ concept store is a must-visit destination for fashion enthusiasts looking to explore the richness and creativity of Indian design. Open until May 29th, the store promises to offer a glimpse into the vibrant world of Indian fashion to a global audience, showcasing the best of what the country has to offer in terms of style and craftsmanship.
