Icon Outlet Reopens After Storm Damage

Icon Outlet, the premium outlet shopping destination located in South London’s O2 mall, has recently reopened its doors after experiencing damage from Storm Eunice. The mall, which is a part of the O2 Entertainment District on the Greenwich peninsular, underwent extensive repairs to its iconic roof.

Following the reopening of the central arena for events and concerts last month, Icon Outlet has gradually started reopening its stores. Shoppers can now enjoy visiting popular brands such as Calvin Klein, Gant, Tommy Hilfiger, Joseph, Ted Baker, Kurt Geiger, and Clarins.

Janine Constantin-Russell, the managing director of The O2 Entertainment District and Icon Outlet, expressed her pride in the swift recovery. She said, “We have put in a tremendous amount of effort to ensure our destination is safe and secure for customers while also providing an exceptional retail and leisure experience.” Constantin-Russell also mentioned that although a small portion of Icon Outlet remains closed at the moment, they are confident in surpassing the strong sales growth experienced prior to the incident.

Prior to the storm damage, Icon Outlet had been optimistic about its prospects for 2022. The retail destination had achieved impressive results in 2021, including strong performance metrics, new brand signings and openings, and high consumer engagement. Since reopening in April of last year following lockdowns, Icon Outlet saw a 5% increase in like-for-like sales compared to 2019, with weekly average sales up by 17.5%.

The quick recovery and reopening of Icon Outlet serve as a testament to the resilience and determination of its management and staff. Visitors can once again enjoy a premium shopping experience at this South London retail destination, with a wide range of fashion and lifestyle brands to choose from.
